S2k handles better. at least according to A-stock results.

irregardless, it sounds like you want something that is not a 2 seater so you can go grocery shopping or whatever, and something that can make up for your inadequate driving skills in poor weather.

get the EVO. you're not an S2000 owner.

Anybody ever seen the top gear video of the Evo MR beating a Lambo Murcielago on the track? Test drive them both and tell the dealers you are stuck between the two cars in your decision and see if you get any deals.
thaT car had 400hp lol, no shit it'll keep up with a lambo.

If you don't like the fact that it's a two seater, which it looks like you don't. Then why would you cinsider buying one??? Go with the evo, it looks like your liking more things the evo has over what the S has.

S2000 if you don't need the practicality; if you do, I'd get the STI over the EVO anyday b/c of a much nicer interior and better Subaru quality/warranty support
Subaru quality/warranty support??! haha this is nonexistant..trust me. If you want a Subaru, you really have to like the car because after they have your money...its over

I don't think most people know this but Mitsu=Subaru. They are the same company, and you should look into it if you don't believe me.

Isn't mitsu doing the gas for a year thing/ can't beat that

thanks for your opinions..
only reason im comparing these two cars is because they're both in my price range.
i was just looking for some more opinions, obviously i have done the thinking myself
FYI i have already chosen the s2k b4 i started this thread.
i just wanted to see some more reasonable opinions..
thanks for your time

I think it comes down to this:
1. The Evo looks like ass, unless you're into rice.
2. It's based on an econobox, no getting away from that.
3. Do you want a fun-to-drive, put a smile on your face car or something that's just fast? The S2K isn't the quickest on the road, but probably the funnest (while still being relatively quick).

I think it's weird you're cross-shopping an Evo and an S2K as well; pick what features you want (convertible, 2-seater, etc) and then choose.

I really like both cars... it really just depends on what your looking for. I wouldn't trade my S2000 even though it's a bit slower (ok mines pretty much stock so quite a bit slower) than the evo i still love mine and have so much fun driving it around especially when it's a nice day and i can put the top down.

I don't think it's such a bad question. True everyone has pointed out how the two cars are different. But they do have similar performance, both have pluses and minuses.

I think of trading my S for an EVO MR. But they say the grass is always greener on the other side..

The biggest thing for me would be the EVO is miles better in rain/snow.. But don't believe awd means you can't chuck it in the wet.. You can drive faster with the EVO in the rain but when grip gives out you can wreck an EVO.

At least with the S2000 we all know is sucks in the wet, so we slow down.

I decided to keep my S and get a set of snow tires, so I'll be able to drive it this winter.

The Evo is a hell of a car. If I could only have one car I'd probably get the Evo.

It is an overall better car than the S2000 -- seats 4, has a lot of torque, AWD, etc. It doesn't look as good as the S2000, and doesn't have the same feel. You sit up high, you feel like you're sitting "on the car" whereas in the S2000 you're "in the car" if that makes any sense.

The transmission sucks balls compared to the S2k, and the dash materials are low quality too. But, if you really care about performance that stuff doesn't matter to you. One more thing about the Evo, it is easy to make a lot of power for cheap, that's probably one of the biggest advantages over the S.

But despite all it's AWD electronic wizardry, the S handles as well if not better in dry weather.
