The NSX was first introduced in 1990. That makes it 15 years old now! There have been a couple of updates in this time. Whether or not you think these updates are significant is something which is usually easier to determine in retrospect.

Now at what point do you stop doing minor changes to an existing car and totally redesign it (either as a whole new car or just an updated model)?

Up until the US market got the 2.2L engine in the s2000, the differences between cars were mainly cosmetic. The 2004 model would have to be the first big difference between models. Maybe Honda should have designated the model differently rather than using the year number (eg s2000 series 2).

You then have to also consider that because the other worldwide markets did not receive the entire 2004 update package (eg no 2.2L engine). In my view if Honda were serious about the evolution of the car, the engine change would not have been only for one market, but as an important step in the overall evolution scheme.

envy you trust car magazines.

The real people who know about s2sk are owners and previous owners. these are the people I would rather trust than a car magazine.

I see no envy, I like the pre 04 bumper better, the wheels are more simple, and 9k redline Again theres no diff in performance its all on driver so what is there to envy about

lol I think I'm the only person who likes s2k silverOEM wheels? They def look better than any other OEM wheels and I will be keeping them on the car 350z wheels...........

Maybe they just look the best on a silver s2k

I assume this comment is aimed at me.

Sorry guess I forgot Honda is so all-mighty and has so much interest vested in the Stook that they bought off every car magazine under the sun to say the 04 is an improvement. DOH! Silly me!

Envy or not a certain group of of pre-04 owners sure spends alot of energy dissing the 04. Of course they know better than all the guys who review cars for a living and their ownership of a pre-04 does not in any way bias their opinion. Funny how all the guys who track/race their cars don't claim the pre-04 is faster or better. Some evn say it brings to the table what they aim to acheive with mods.

I guess the harsher ride, tighter and less refined interior, softer chassis, oversteering, 9k motor with less bottom end, rougher gear box with inferior gearing (relative to the 04 speaking) , and a weaker LSD are sufficient to convince some people that they have a "purer" sports car. Oh and I forgot them silver wheels! Sheesh!

K, your perspective is clearly unbiased and more knowledgeable than all the reviewers, you MUST be right. -You read them articles by any chance?

P.S.: Dear Honda, if you hadn't made the changes that you did for 04, I wouldn't have bought an S, kudos!
