Post Warranty Direct...........any good?

Hi there

Has anyone taken out an extended warranty with Warranty Direct?

If so have there been any problems when a claim was made?

What opinion do people have with a warranty from them as compared to a Hondacare extended warranty?

My S is just out of the manufacturer's warranty.

I've not been to impressed with the stealers really, and from reading on the forums it seems that some dealers accept a claim under warranty, while others refuse, seems very hit and miss.

Hence I have not been keen to take out a Hondacare extended warranty.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Generally speaking, third party warranty suppliers have the type of policy "If it's listed - it's covered" and often referred to on forums as "Houdini warranties" as they seem to try to get out of claims.
Many companies have their own independent chain of repairers who will carry out repairs under their warranty/guarantee but they would not necessarily know your vehicle, or use genuine Honda parts - they work at a cheaper labour rate than dealers and are usually independent workshops.

Some independent warranty compaines will not write a policy on cars like the S2000 either so it may pay to shop around - there are around 6 major players there.

On Hondacare guarantees it is not the dealer who decides if anything is covered under the policy - it is the administrators - AON - a dealer would always know what is claimable - AON pay the bill so we have the argument between the owner who decides what he wants under the guarantee and the dealer who knows what is covered - thats where many problems arise.
The type of cover on Hondacre policies states "All mechanical and electrical items" which is pretty comprehensive and there are a few exclusions such as any bodywork, paintwork, exterior and interior trims, items amde to wear as part of their life function and service and maintenance items etc.

Hope that helps.

They are all a bunch of tossers in my experience

Since owning a Jap car (7 years of them) I havent had to deal with a warranty issue thankfully.

I would rather go with Honda.
