Thanks for the time put in! #s make sense! Yeah, there are many variables. you can plug in months worth of variables, and not make everyone happy here. I applaud the effort, it was informative!
taking a break from studying for a midterm exam on electrical machinary...
ok, ap2 users, here's the gears comparison for your cars.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE: i had done an ap1 vs ap2 sim a while back, and even though i own an ap1, i have to admit that the ap2 is slightly quicker. in fact, i knew that it was slightly quicker than i had shown. with the ap2 redline and gearing, shifting into 2nd and 3rd gear drops the engine below 6k rpm, and in my simulation, you can see the effective torque drop with both shifts. this also happens with the ap1 in its shift into 2nd, but that drop is not "that" significant, so i never corrected it. in this new simulation for ap2 though, i made the correction, and you can see that the engine no longer drops out of VTEC in those shifts.
ok, first the dyno...210 whp for the ap2
effective torque at the wheel (you can see here that the engine doesn't drop out of VTEC)
0-60 (with the ap2, 4.77 wins, because even with stock gearing, a shift to 3rd is required)
60-140
top speed
quarter mile (if you compare the stock result to the ap2 result i had posted before, you should notice a very slight improvement due to the "vtec-drop correction")
