Finally got to test drive an [2004] S2000!
"which was an 2004 yellow s2k with 30K miles and selling for 25K."
That seems a little steep. my local dealer has a 05 red s2k with 20k and they are asking 21k. They have been sitting on it for awhile.

Yeah. What they are trying to do, is mark it as 25K, when someone who is interested comes in, they show it to them, if they buy it as it is, they will get a heck of a deal out of it (the dealership), since it was overpriced...if they dont like the price, they will pretend to think hard and come up with a "solution" and say they will do the buyer a big favor and give him the deal of his life and lower it to 21K. Then they'll just make it seem like they just lowered an "amazing" 4 grand out of the original price, when all they are doing is selling it for what it is.

Good to know. I wouldve wished it was 5K though...maybe even around 4K. That way is isnt so hard to get on VTEC at some speeds. I noticed that at 30mph you would have to rev-match the crap out of it in 1st gear (not desireble) in order to run.
also noticed the car sits at 3.1k or around that when going 60mph. My car sits in 2.3-2.5K at that speed. Im guessing thats why they call the Vtec cars high revved...i thought it was just the redline hehe.
what are your shifting points when cruising? I shifted around 3K and when I felt i needed to.
also, I saw a video of a guy launching in Vtec area. Wouldnt you spin out pretty bad? Or the lack of torque makes you grip? does it?

yeah I know. I never do that because my turbo spools at 3k, so Im just fine doing a roll at 30mph in 2nd as long as I help myself with some brake-boosting.
But as I said, on the s2k, you wouldnt be able to run anyone because you cant downshift to 1st and 2nd is out of vtec bad.
