You'll hit the low-grip surface condition with your fronts first, right? So basically you just have to hang on and not do anything stupid as you get short-term massive understeer followed by short-term massive oversteer which should put the car back in line *if* you haven't overcorrected. It's even creepier/scarier on a motorcycle, but if you keep your head you should be OK.
But of course there are instances where there just is too much traction loss to negotiate the corner. Still, it's not so much a rwd vs. fwd thing imo, given that one has the experience and skillset to drive at (and beyond) the limits of adhesion.
