Default First Rock Chip

Despite stongard, a stray rock managed to strategically place a chip on my driver's side fender, just above where the stongard ends. Anyone have a good method of fixing this? I think I read somewhere here a really good and detailed step by step instruction on fixing paint chips (using the manufacturer's touch up paint).

Assuming its down to the metal...

Use a sanding stick (looks like an eraser) to get any loose particals out

Get a 2" wide piece of masking tape and use a single hole punch out the middle. Lay it over the chip hole.

Use a sewing needle to work a tiny drop of primer to the chip and work it in the chip hole.

In a glass container take your touchup paint and mix 1 part paint to 1.5 reducer (not thinner). you only need a small amount.

Use a clean hypodermic syringe to slowly inject the paint in the chip. Do a thin coats, dont fill the chip up in one shot. Flash time is probably like 10-20 mins depending on the reducer. The reducer should allow it to bleed into the surrounding paint. If you do it right you won't have to wet sand it.
