low 15's to low 16's depending on the density altitude of the day. It really, really sucks. VTEC kicks in a bit later too ...

Woah, I didn't realise the difference would be that much!!! That does suck, so basically an S2K at that altitude can end up feeling as slow as a Civic Si on a bad day?

oh by the way, is there certain limitation of VTECing routine??
like, some resting period in each VTEC, or i can do it every gear and stop and do samething? am i being too stupid?
I talked to a honda engineer (that was buying a cadillac xlr while i was at the dealer getting my s2k), and he said that they design these motors to run vtech and back hundreds of times without skipping a beat (hence the geared cams). Also he said they run them at all rpm's for 24hours.

24hours of vtech, now there is a sensation to behold :-P So basically, use vtech anytime you want to, no draw backs etc etc. Except for gas prices.

my02 kicks in around 6000 rpm.. but you can't ease into it.. if you do, there will be power, but to experience vtec, you need to go at least 3/4 throttle.. it's like constant turbo.. no lag..

I Vtec all the time but my wife VTECH all the time. One day my wife decided to Vtec all the time and I thought she would lay off the Vtech but she ended up VTeching the rest of the week to tell her friend all about VTEC!
