Thumbs up Fitting in the S2K...

hey all,

i have been enjoying this car since the day honda announced it many many years ago (i remember reading about it on the wall street journal). i have also been prowling this forum for years too, and i thank you all in advance for having provided volumes of useful information/pictures/etc. now that i am old enough (23) and working a pretty decent job, i think i can afford to finally buy one, but i had one major concern...

i dont know if i fit comfortably in the car. i drive a sedan now, where i can spread out and lean all over the place. obviously in any roadster, especially a small two seater like the S2K, space will be more of an issue...but when i test sat in an MY04 last year, my legs almost rubbed against the nonadjustable steering wheel, even with the seat all the way back.

i am about 6' 1" and 220 lbs. my question is whether or not there are aftermarket modifications that can increase cockpit size (do aftermarket seats tend to sit lower on the ground, be thinner to give more clearance, are there adjustable steering column mods). i am also wondering if other "larger" people have had similar issues, and how these problems have been dealt with.

thanks!

PS - is the 400 lb carrying limit pretty strict? since i am already 220, i am wondering if carrying a similarly sized friend would bottom out the car...

One idea is using the JDM steering wheel. The bottom of the steering wheel flatens out rather then being a complete round circle. It should help when you're driving straight I guess..

That's the VGS steering wheel. IF you can find one it runs around $400+ and it doesn't fit the US steering collum. A guy in florida adapts them though, but then you have to spin the wheel around eventually so there's no point if you did it for room.

My only suggestion if you really want the car is to get Sparco or Recaro seats. Not sure which ones fit, but they have been put in before. Other than that, you're pretty much out of options other than buying thinner shoes

6' and 220 here. Although I have the seat all the way back, I find it quite comfortable stock.
