I got an accord key to work.....

I posted more info about it on my blog http://thes2kandtheant.wordpress.com...cord-retrofit/
One more point of confusion. Just to clarify: you took the inside of the S2K fob and put it inside the new Accord key? Is that correct?

It does not seem that the S2K fob internals would fit into the Accord all-in-one key.

The circuit board near the top of this ( https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/gallery/p...946__file__med ) picture shows that the vertical distance of the panic button to the unlock button is nearly twice the distance of the lock to the unlock button. In your image ( http://thes2kandtheant.files.wordpre...pg?w=950&h=712 ) It seems that distance of the unlock button to the panic button is equal to that of the lock button to the unlock button.

Do you have an image of the internals of the Accord key you used before you put it together?

EDIT: NM Just figured out you used a UK fob which most likely has different size than USDM. My search for answers continues... My ultimate goal would be to put the standard fob internals inside a key like that. I don't mind sacrificing the panic button. Perhaps it's possible to cut the circuit board north of the panic button and it would still work? Not an electronics expert so I can't tell. Anyone know?
The key is still pretty much a UK standard accord key, I didn't swap the internals of the s2k key with anything, except the immobilizer chip. The only issue really preventing us from using a usdm accord key is the frequency of which our keys work on. I hope this helps.

did you ever try modding the switchblade keys to work?

how about just switching out to a us honda accord FOB and rewire that since its easier to obtain then you can just cut the key and swap the imobolizer.

AP1 and AP2 use the same fob.

Thanks s2ka. Apparently I accidentally got the fobs with the alarm instead of the non-alarm one.

I got a spare key now so I'm willing to try and do some surgery and put the transponder into something else.

hmm I would be interested to see how well it works out. It seems to be decent build quality and you just swap your own internals into it. Heck for $10 I think I am going to buy it and try it out. I will update when I get it.

Eight sold and the guy still has 100% feedback.

Nevermind, they were all sold really recently. I don't get how that keyblade is supposed to cover both AP1 and AP2s. It looks like it's a regular keyblade (AP1), not a LaserCut/Sidewinder (AP2) type.

I just bought one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190704989258

I'm confused how it could work with both AP1 & AP2 unless they give you different blanks that fit. Based on the list of compatible models, I'd guess it comes with an AP2 "lasercut" blank. Will post my findings when I get it. Maybe my first 'DIY'!

Hope this will work. As long as everything fits inside should be good.
