Default Front Fender rock chips

I have a question that has eaten me alive all weekend.

Has anyone had the issue on the 04 where rocks are chipping the very edge of the front fenders at the back, bottom, of the fender? It is just around the edge where the plastic covering does not cover.

I had an 01 and it did not have this issue, but I would guess due to the wider tires this is a problem on the 04's.

If so, how can I fix the chips and prevent future damage???!!!!

Stressed out!

I put a stip of clear bra on that section to prevent more chips from happening.

Did you touch up the paint first? If so, did you use the clear over the colored?

Mine is an 04 Rio as well.

Thanks for the advice.

I noticed that mine has those chips along the lower fender edge behind the front wheel. I'm planning to touch it up and put a strip of clear bra there, as mentioned above. You can but bulk 3M Scotchcal material on ebay for reasonable cost.

same problems here, did not have on MY03.

I have a question, though, one of the chip has rust spot, how should I remove it before do the touch up?

Yep, here is my tip, first put a small ( SMALL ) dab of body filler in the chip, once dry then use your touch up. If you go with just touch up you will need 10 coats to fill the void, and RIO touch up is like water, after 3 coats you will wonder where the paint went. If you use body filler first it will fill in the void and you will use much less paint to get the color match.

I have the same problem. Autocrossing really does a number on it. If Honda made front flaps, I'd jump on 'em.
