I'm getting really envious at looking at all your front end pictures on this site, with no front license plates. All over Europe the front plate is required, and to top it off, they're huge! The snout of the S2000 is probably the most outstanding visual feature on the car. What a shame to have to plaster a sign across the front of it. My S2000 is red (yes, I agree with the fellow that said it's the ONLY color!), and the large, white plate kinda stands out, to say the least.
Oh, well. I guess it distinguishes the car as being "in Europe"!

A front license plate is required in many states in the US. California requires a front license plate but I have taken mine off and I'll risk the ticket for vanity.

Maybe you can try your luck in Spain.

I wouldn't last a second on the roads without the front plate! These things are not discrete little square jobbers, but long & wide. It sits just above the front air intake, and covers about the same length as the bottom of the intake space! To top it off, someone decided that Spanish S2000's should have the headlight washers. So, there's a black plastic strip under each front light!! The button to trigger these sits on the middle console beside the rear window heater button (for the hardtop). It is not recessed, so if you accidentally hit it, and have the top down, you get a nice "rain shower" that is not expected! Still love the car, inspite of these little nasties. Every time I take it out for a run, I can count on at least 6 people making comments from the sidewalk or from an adjacent car. Motorcyclists are the best. They tend to ride alongside the front wheel, then, zip out in front giving me a thumbs up as they zoom off. I let them zoom off, knowing full well what I can do in my red bomb if the mood strikes me!

On the day I picked up my S, I took out the front licence holder right on the dealer lot. I never cared for those ugly things, especially in San Francisco where every cop is very lax.

Those nasty front plates......Although the European ones are fairly unique IMO.

Here in Belgium we can put the license plate as a sticker just below the air intake

Bad news for those in West Los Angeles....I got pulled over for not having my front plates....the cop told me there is a "directive" to ticket those with out front plates since they have been putting up more and more cameras at various intersections to catch those running red lights.

bobio- isnt that a "fix-it" ticket, where you put the plate on take it to the police station and they throw away the ticket?... and then you drive home and take off the plate- thats the way we used to do it anyway...
(see you on the 20th?!)
