I'm thinking there must be a difference then in AP1 Vs. AP2.
When I removed mine there was no issue at all, I just undid the bolts and popped the plastic plugs in, and that was 8-9 seasons ago.
Good luck! Removing the front bumper for a task this simple sounds like a PITA!

Why are you removing it?
If you live in Texas it is required.
Because it is ugly...
It's required in my state too, what's your point?

Car looks great without the ugly plate!

What he said!

In Texas it is just a $10 fix-it ticket. Well worth the charge if you ask me.

About the same in NY, it's an inspection violation, so they write you up for a ticket, then give you a certificate to get filled out by an inspection station showing the problem was fixed. So you put the plate on, have it inspected, they sign the form and give it back to ya. Then send in the certificate and the ticket and the ticket is dropped. And of course, take the plate back off the car... Well worth the time and trouble if you ask me.

You can buy them at the dealer. It's a bit pricey for just some plugs, but oh well. $~10 or so.

I pushed them into my AP2 the day I bought the car. No problems.
