Default Gains with Unbolting Exhaust

A couple of my friends have been unbolting there exhaust on there cars and it seems that it makes a difference. One of my friends has a Celica GTS with a unbolted exhaust he is smoking every celica out there running a 14.7 in the 1/4 mile. Another one of my friends has a RSX Type-S he also has his unbolted hes crushin, hes running a 14.9 in the 1/4 mile. Has anyone done this with there S, if so have you felt a major difference in top end or low end. Please let me know.

Open headers baby.......technically.......you *should* gain power.....but who knows.....

AND.....a 4 cylinder, no matter what anyone says, IS NOT LOUD with no exaust

And, a 4 cylinder IS NOT LOUD with a straight pipe assuming you have a mild exaust.

Just did this to my car and my friends RSX type S. The cat is nothing more than a power robber.

i did the exact same thing to my S and my celica gts (unbolted exhaust after header) . it was to the point of having almsot no hearing.

even after the cat its still too loud!

no power though, not that i could notice.

no i meant unbolt the exhaust after the CAT. there must be a difference. The S exhaust can unbolt right after the CAT. I am very interested in the power gains.

I unbolted my exaust AFTER the CAT, and it was just deeped than stock. The RSX we took the cat off and it was just deeper than stock. An Amuse R1 is way louder that what I did.

Open header on my friends car was very LOUD. It was unbearable and it sounded like a v-8 pushrod, pretty cool might I add. I wouldnt do it, if a significant gain was to be had then I would think everyobdy would be running around with open exhaust systems.

Not that many people do it cuz its illegal but in Crofton MD cops could care less if you have exhaust or not
