Gauges are really not necessary if your car is stock though!
Indeed. Something tells me if you don't even know what guages you want, you don't need gauges.

Just save the money so you can put in the in dash DVD player and watch The Fast and The Furious any time you want

yeah. thanks. great advice

not a fan of in dash dvd, but to each their own. just too "Pimp My Ride" for my taste.

in all seriousness i couldn't think of the term...coolant, water, you get the picture. An A/F gauge is ok, but they are more for show I would think given that it can vary so quickly. I would probably get a data logger if I wanted to monitor my A/F ratio.

There is no question that gauges are at least partially for show, but so are lips, wings, spoilers, side skirts...

Sure. If it's just for show, get digital guages. Then you can set them on test mode and have flashing lights all over the place. A/F guages do real well at this. If you've got an AP1, might as well get a coolant temp guage since the stock one isn't very accurate. And I suppose you could round out a 3 pod pillar with an oil pressure guage. Who knows, maybe someday you'll start leaking oil for some random reason and the off chance that you'll actually look at the guage could save your engine

I've got an A-pillar gauge pod setup from Science Of Speed. I'm not sure if they're still a sponsor here, but they still sell it:

http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/int...0/pillar%5Fpod/

This unit replaces the existing A-pillar cover. If you're looking for installation instructions for oil pressure and water temp, XViper has a great writeup on this:

I installed digital oil pressure and an outside temperature gauges on my A-pillar. The digital gauges really go well with the rest of the digital gauges in the S2K.
