anyone have a vid or sound clip of this infamous whine? And The clutch buzz as well while we"re at it.

^of course they're not, that really would be a pain for daily driving
but i would imagine they are not cut exactly like oem

i haven't checked into the s2000 gears but the mfactory final drive i bought for my prelude is a little more straight cut

the 4.77 looks as helically cut as the stock 4.1

OEM Gears are helical cut as they minimize noise from the gear teeth meshing together.

Performance Aftermarket Gears tend to be either Semi-Helical or Straight-Cut. Meshing is more efficient (thus less parasitic drivetrain losses) at the sacrifice of noise.

I have the 4.56s and have some whine, but it quieted down significantly after I started using Amsoil 75w/110. I thought that the 4.77s were as quiet as the factory 4.10s, but I could be wrong.

mine does it in decel but not when just cruising, but the whine is normal
