^of course they're not, that really would be a pain for daily driving
but i would imagine they are not cut exactly like oem
i haven't checked into the s2000 gears but the mfactory final drive i bought for my prelude is a little more straight cut

OEM Gears are helical cut as they minimize noise from the gear teeth meshing together.
Performance Aftermarket Gears tend to be either Semi-Helical or Straight-Cut. Meshing is more efficient (thus less parasitic drivetrain losses) at the sacrifice of noise.
