I know this is a semi-old thread but I'm very pleased with the jack I just bought for my s2k. I had a regular 1.5 ton jack that wouldn't fit under anything, even slipping it behind the rear bumper it wouldn't clear the bottom of the differential case so I literally had to spend 15 minutes using the Honda jack that came with the car to get one of the sides high enough to use the 1.5 ton hydraulic jack for the reast of the way. And btw, the 1.5 ton jack took about 100 pumps to full extension. THEN... when I had to lower the car back down, I would have to let it down some, put the Honda jack back under and raise it up a few turns to slip the 1.5 ton jack out and then lower the car the rest of the way with the Honda jack

I bought a set of the Rhino ramps - I hate them. Trying to basically give them away on CL right now. They are terrible for this car, imo, at least for the work I want to do on the car. As people have said, you have to use 2x4 blocks to get it to not rub on the front and then you can't even do wheel or tire work at that point because it's obviously being supported there. It also only raises the car 6-7 inches. Barely enough to wiggle under there and change your coolant or oil... that's about it. And I wouldn't even do that, since I've heard that these ramps can snap and crush you (of course I'm sure there are jacks stands that this has happened too, and there are stupid people in the world that don't use things correctly... but it kinda scares me none-the-less). And the height they lift (6-7 inches) isn't enough to put the jack stand under without jacking it up even higher. And also, if you bring the fron end up with the ramp, you can't put jack stands under the front jack points anyways because the ramps bottoms are in the way so you can't add an extra set of stands for additional safety.

So this is the jack I got:

I think there's a coupon to get it for $70 right now. Which pisses me off because I spent $85 for it and imediately after I purchased it the next day I got an email with the coupon as a "thanks" for being a customer but anyways, I'm very happy with this jack!

1. It has a very long lever rod.
2. The front wheel is off the ground in literally 3 pumps if using one of the front jack points
3. It fits EASILY under the jack points (I'm stock height) with plenty of room to spare
4. The circular part that contacts the jack point is MUCH bigger than a standard jack (like my 1.5 ton), it's about 4 inches wide which is GREAT... makes me feel much more comfortable about grabbing a jack point
5. This jack is very heavy, probably about 60 lbs. which is good for me because it feels very solid and well constructed

Just wanted to share!

So much conflicting info... I thought NO Harbor Freight jacks worked on the front or else I would've bought one since it's so cheap!

I went ahead and ordered the ATD-7325 that's been mentioned a few times as being guaranteed to work. I have an AP2 with stock suspension, OEM lip, AND Coastal Metals splitter. That specific setup DOES NOT clear the rear of the ATD jack to reach the front jack point. I actually have to use a bit of force to squeeze the jack under the splitter, causing the splitter to bend up a bit. Luckily it's a tough piece so it doesn't get permanently bent. Still, that's not ideal and I will probably still resort to 2x4s or super low profile ramps in the future to get clearance, unfortunately.

From my observation, you should be OK if you have an AP2 at stock height with the OEM lip but just barely, since the Coastal Metals splitter hangs down a bit further. AP2 with no lip at stock height should clear without any problems. That's just my guess from looking at it in relation to my car; no guarantees if it doesn't work for you.

Thanks for this info! I was about to order that jack in the hopes that it would fit under my splitter as well, looks like I'll be doing a race ramps / jack combo.

Details, details. I use the front and rear (diff) center jacking points per the manual. Faster and easier for me. Its no big deal to drive the thing up on a 2X6 piece of wood that I cut angles on on end. They are about a foot long each. That gives me enough clearance to put y 2.5 ton $100 aluminum/steel Costco jack under the front lip. I can then jack to my hearts content and put it on jack stands or whatever. Of course for an oil change I use a Fumoto valve so all I do is open the hood. I just slide a pan to catch the oil under the car. No jacking required.

I bought the low-profile racing jack from Harbor Freight, and it just BARELY slides under it, but it does work. I don't recall the model number, but it was the most expensive jack they had, longer and lower profile than the others.

I just purchased the 3 ton heavy duty Harbor Freight jack today, in hopes that it will reach the front jack point without putting a nice crease on the bottom of my bumper, as I've done before when my other (Costco) heavy duty jack got caught. I've since had a brand new bumper put on, so I'm hoping not to repeat.

I bought a low profile (2.5 ton??) jack from costco for $100. It works great. I can just barely get it under the side since I am lowered.
Can't go wrong with this. Includes lifetime warranty with costco.

That is exactly it. I have used it quite a bit for the last 8 months and it still works flawlessly.

This jack finally took a crap. After 3 yrs only with regular use. Took it back and got another with no hassle from costco. Although the replacement was a different Arcan 2.5 ton. Its a blue and silver jack. If it lasts another 3 ill go back and get another. +1 for costco

i've been using the 2 ton and 1.5 ton harbor freight aluminum racing jack. very awesome jack since it's light weight and cheap. slides under my car without any issues. be sure to purchase the aluminum jack stands also. on sale currently for $60 i believe.
