Default Got Bit By The S2k Bug

We'll im going back to NY From LA by next month. I've decided that i want a new car when i go home. Im 22 years old and have had a different car every year since 17, i get either bored or just wanted something different. I took my friends AP2 for a lil ride around the neighborhood last year and i was impressed. Suspension was pretty stiff on potholes but the power was addicting, i'm i love high revving engines so i was right at home with it + getting the rear end to do major slide from banging 2nd was a great feeling. Basicly my delimma is this: w/e car i get i want to keep it for several years and im afraid im going to get tired of it because of the practicality issue. My friend actually got rid of hers this summer because of it, she went for an Si. Im debating between the S2k, Mk4 R32 ( which would be great for snow.), or G35. I would honestly prefer the S2k because of the drop top factor plus the engine, theres nothing like hearing a engine at 8k+.

With a good set of snow tires you should be fine. Or you could get a cheap beater for the winter and not subject the S to the road salt etc.

I'd get the MK4 just for the snow traction.
The S suks in snow, no matter the tire.
We always garage ours in the winter.
Hey wait a minute I live in sunny Southern California. Never mind

Yea ive been living out here since June, Weather is gorgeous out here but have to go back home next month. What about the whole not having enough room part. I rarely ever carried passangers, Once in a blue. It never bothered anyone? Anyone FRom NY that can chime in, when it comes to parking in the streets.

Woah I hope the whole thing was a joke about it sucking in the snow!

I would actually go so far as to say the S is actually quite AMAZING in the snow. You've got all the weight centered between the front and rear wheels, you're damn near sitting on top of the rear wheels, and (let's be honest) it's not like it has a ton of power down low to cause the wheels to break every time you attempt to accelerate.

There are countless people who daily drive their S2Ks (including me) and I couldn't be happier. I have no reason to need to carry more than one passenger, and when we have too many people we take multiple cars or someone else drives everyone in an SUV or sedan. Twice in a over a year and a half I've rented a truck briefly to take care of a few tasks here and there. It's an easy backup plan, and the rest of the year I get to enjoy rolling around in an awesome little car.

I say DO IT
