And it was from a boxter, nsx, or bmw owners.
Suprisingly enough it was from a 6 year old kid.
As i was walking back to my car from the YMCA, i heard the kid say, "Dad, that's the kind of car i'd like to get when i grow up." He gave me a smile without even knowing it.

My uncle told me that after seeing my car, my young cousin expressed a new found desire to become a software engineer. (I think before that he wanted to become a pro westler)

Just wait until you pull up beside a school bus full of kids! I did that yesterday, and was the recipient of a chorus of "I like your car!"

It put a big smile on my face.

Kids are great like that aren't they? There's no ego involved at all.

Yes, kids make me smile too with this car . I drove past a little school bus on the interstate one day filled with elementary age kids. They all flocked to one side of the bus as I drove by, all of them waving and giving the thumbs up. What a feeling, gave me a huge smile !

I can remember doing the same thing when I was little....

I was driving through a little town last fall, you know the kind you have to slow to 25 to go through the main intersection, two young girls about 9 or 10 commented on how nice the S2K was. But this was an exception. It's always young teenage boys that comment on the car, particularly when they are driving.

Last summer I was returning home in my S2000 from a nice Sunday afternoon drive when, as I pulled into my driveway, I saw something rustling in the bushes near my garage. I thought it might be a deer or a raccoon but it turned out to be the next door neighbor's 15 year old boy who had heard and seen me drive passed his house on my way home and wanted to just "stare at the car."

So I parked it in the driveway and he just stood there transfixed on the S2000 for the next 10 minutes. He finally got the strength to speak and began peppering me with questions about the car for the next half hour. It became obvious he had no intention of leaving anytime soon so, I thought that if he was this awed by the S2000, I should at least treat him to a ride. I told him to hop in and then gave him a spirited ride to town and back.

When we returned he told me it was "the best ride I've ever had in my entire life" and he thanked me and ran home.

A few weeks later as I returned home from another drive there was once again some rustling in the bushes near my garage. It was him again but this time he brought along his best friend to show off the car he had gotten "the ride of his life" in. Now I had two of them transfixed in my driveway -- this must be contagious!

Needless to say, I think I've helped created a couple of sports car enthusiasts and future sports car owners!

You should try picking up your 15 year old kid from HS in a S2000. You wouldn't believe the crowd that gathered.
