Default Hard top compatibility

Will hard tops fit on any year S2000? Including the '00--01's?

As far as I know, the answer is "Yes". But early MY00 may need a separate mounting kit because they were not "HT ready".

yes, but you need the install kit.

I believe the hardtop comes with install kit "B" which has parts used for all years...or at least most vendors include it in the quoted price. This kit consists of the wiring harness, defrost switch (not used in 2002+), strikers, sockets for the rear, and trim pieces.

2002-2004 models may nor may not need kit "C" depending on the color. This kit consists of an alternate wiring harness and rear socket as the 2002+ models already have a defroster and the defeat switch when the hardtop is installed works the opposite way.

Many early 2000 models may need kit "A" which adapts the electical system to accept the defroster. Subsequent models had provisions for the defroster relay; I don't think the ealy 2000s did.
