Default Hardtop makes cracking/snapping noise?! body flex?

Hi all, this is my first real post so if i screw up something feel free to let me know.

My question is this: when i'm pulling out of a parkinglot/driveway in which exit is fairly steep and I need to exit at an angle (so that I don't scratch the front lip), my hardtop makes a loud cracking/snapping noise. Is this noise simply just the hardtop adjusting under body flex? or this this something I should get checked out? I haven't noticed any damage or anything like that but I'm concerned that I'm damaging the hardtop. Any ideas?

I've tried searching for similar post/problems on the forums but I didn't find any that specifically addressed this issue. Any advice given would be greatly appreciated.

Get yourself some silicone based grease and lightly grease up all the rubber parts where the top touches the car or eachother.
If those parts are dirty clean them first with soft cloth and soapy water (or simular)
Thats part of normal maintenance of the soft top to stop it from squeeking etc.

Try unlocking one of the top hardtop latches and see if it continues to make that sound. Then lock that latch and unlock the other one and try and make it creak again.

Does the top go on and off the car fairly easily or does it require significant effort to get it into place? You may need to adjust the latches a bit...

Yes, the hardtop comes off pretty easily. I'll give the latches a go. I'm sure the noise isn't a big deal but being that I've only had this car for a few weeks, I get concerned with every little unknown noise. Thanks for your help.
