Default Hardtop Questions

The s2000 only came with rag tops, and hard tops were dealer add-ons right?

Are the hardtops, permanent, or can they be removed, with little difficulty? (Season Changes).

And does the chassis gain more rigidity from the hard top, or does it sort of slide onto the body?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Removable. No gain in rigidity. You're welcome.

Unless you have a hoist or a lift you'll need 2 people to lift it, but other than that it's a 5 minute job I think.

Not true, but doing it with one person is tons easier with the passenger seat removed. Speaking from experience(and I'm not a large man by any standards- 5'8").

True you can do it by yourself but is it worth the risk to the HT or the car of you making a mistake. Not to me.

FYI the OEM hardtop does increase rigidity, the magnitude of increase has not been measured but it is there.

In theory, yes. In practicality, no.
