Forget the noise reduction...I'm wondering how much the aerodynamics of the car will improve.

Someone mentioned that the engine noise is cut down with the hardtop on. Nope! Just the opposite...it's louder. Love it!!

Also, someone asked about the two buttons on the console. The one to the left of the console is for the really well-working rear window heater, and the other is for the really stupid looking headlight washers.

BTW, the washer button is not indented & it's very easy to hit it with your elbow. This has the great effect of giving you & your partner a little shower if the top is down. Why on earth one needs to squirt water on the lights at the front of the car & give the rest of the car a shower is beyond me.

The car just came with the things. Also included was the name HONDA above the S2000 emblem on the sides of the car!

So the only real installation on this roof is a defogger on the rear glass? The Honda brand accessories come are pretty detailed and easy to do if you have any basic skills. If possible could someone post them?

Heres something, Do you leave the urethane film on? I think it would look best without it with a matching body color top. BUT it looks best with it when the soft top is up. Oh the choices in life!

Several of us have already installed the OEM Hardtop, either outside USA or in USA with MG Racing GB.
Install is easy - a few parts have to be bolted on and interior panels removed.
You might want to search on this topic as much has been posted including PIX of Hardtop and intall kit.

Called Honda and they don't have any copies of the installation instructions or pictures available to send to me. Kinda disappointing since ordering starts tomorrow..

I saw a Red S2K with a new hardtop at the Detriot Auto show. It's a four point hold down system, 2 front and 2 back. Looks great on the car.....much better then a Miata.
Check out the picture !

I thought I wanted a hard top but now that I have had the car since August of 2000 with 17k+ miles, I've decided not to get it.

#1 Decision: The weather here in North Carolina, one day the temps at 40 degrees, the next day, it's at 70! With the rag top, you can instantly decide when to have the top up or down.

#2 Decision: Price! $3,000 is alot to sit on the car! Plus, I feel it takes away from the whole convertible idea!

In North Carolina, the spring and summer nights are cool and just screaming to have you take advantage of it with the top down! I'd hate to have to haul a section of my car (the top) into some crevice in my garage (plus, where in the hell would I put my John Deere!?!).

Well, I'm sure for lots of other folks, the hartop will be a God send. . .and may those folks have what they want!

I just got a hard top-- ordered in october through mg racing. Estimated delivery time in october was 4-5 weeks, we just got it last week. The thing shipped from switzerland, and is a real Honda part. However, the install instructions are in french or german, and my dealer doesn't speak those languages. The dealer called some honda support, and neither he, nor mg racing, can come up with installation instructions (this thing has an electrical hookup for window defrost). So far the whole deal has been a complete nightmare. I am here tonight because Giampiero thought someone here may have posted install directions. I am a bit surprised that mg racing (a sponsor of this site, BTW) would have such crummy support. I don't think english installation instructions is asking too much....
