Maybe I'm just getting old- but when people are checking out my car, and they are teenagers, I usually shift at, oh, 700 rpm, just to let them know that I have no desire to impress them.
Cops are cops- most good, a few bad ones. Not really sure I'd call the LAPD another gang, just w/ different colors. Last time I checked, the LAPD didn't do drive-bys- they're not perfect, but neither is their work environment.

They're in a no-win situation ... that's why they take it out on the people that they can -- the innocent people without guns and just trying to enjoy their ride.

Shame on them. No one has ever been hurt by an ass hat little kid trying to impress others with his "ride."

Uurrr ... they take it out on some guilty people too. It's all about that circle of violence and power that the cops are in, and because they also deal with regular people, it spills over. Haven't you seen one of those caught-on-video scene where the guy pulls the gun on a surprised cop on a highway traffic stop. The cop is like crying, going back to the time when his mom lost him at the supermarket. Now if that guy didn't have a gun, it'll be the reverse. I'm not saying the guy with the gun is right, but lots of time the cop thinks he's at home and that he can treat u the way he treats his wife.

It sounds like the cop was doing his job and the harassment came from you. The first time he gave you a curtesy warning and that probably means you weren't that far over the line. If you think your smart-ass comments helped you get out of a ticket, keep driving the same way and eventually you'll have the opportunity to blame a judge for his interpretation of the subtle differences between exhibition of speed, reckless driving and an overzealous cop. You should be glad the officer was more polite than you and take a lessen from his constructive approach. If he was, as you said ... "a dick," he could have made your day a lot worse than it turned out to be.

[QUOTE=SlideWayz said]You ever notice a bike taking off at a light? Most of them take off pretty freakin fast, and you don't see cops pulling them over. My car is red - loud - and i'm young with a nice car... no disrespect but are you guys all old because i was't expecting responses like this.

That's real mature, calling someone a faggot over the internet. You did something stupid and got called on it, your lucky you didn't get a ticket.

California's no different from most places I've been, and I've been to a few. You'll find good ones and bad ones either way. I don't live in California but I've got family and friends there and visit every few years or so. I got pulled over in Salinas back in 1997. I don't really know why he pulled me over, I wasn't speeding but I was an out-of-state car driving through his town about 9:30 at night. He was completely professional, checked my information, and let me go. It was no big deal. I could make an issue about him pulling me over for no reason but I don't know what he's thinking. Maybe someone just robbed a bank and used a car similar to mine for a getaway? The thing is, I didn't smart off to him, and the incident lasted maybe 10 minutes. If I'd come on with your attitude, I promise, it would have lasted a lot longer.

The "in my eyes" comment says it all. You don't think that "you're" doing anything wrong. Maybe you should try to see yourself from the other persons (ie, the police) point of view. The S2000 "is" quick! He watched you round a corner and, from his point of view, haul ass!! You admit that you're car is loud so the sound of the car only adds to what he's perceiving visually and you got pulled over for it. DUH! Fact is, whether you "technically" violated any laws or not is irrelevant. You were pushing the limits and you got stopped for it.

Don't blame the police for that! Take responsibility for your own actions!

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

He wasted 10 minutes of your time.
