Maybe if this was your typical "12yr old rice-boy forum" you might get some people to "see it your way", but most of the people here (no matter what age) are much more mature than you and aren't stupid enough to be disrespectful to a cop doing his job. Sorry you didn't like getting pulled over, but he has a right to do that. Go tell your story to those people you are trying so hard to impress, but then again they probably think your an idiot too.

SO WHAT?!

Like I had some place to be in 10 minutes that the world was going to come to an end if I'm not there. The other side of that coin is, if my bank robber example had been true, he'd have gotten a real criminal off the streets. "That" is his job!

Evidently u got time for other people to waste. U don't even know what his real motives were. He coulda been profiling u. But that's ok if u don't mind cops doing that kinda thing.

It may be in Toronto. It certainly isn't in Massachusetts - with so many local Universities, we know speed and acceleration are two different things here - and it may not be in South Carolina, either.

The fact is, sometimes a cop sees someone taking off quickly in a sporty car, and expects to be able to issue a ticket for speeding or running a red light or whatever. Then if you actually stay within the speed limit and stop for the next red light, they feel cheated, and pull you over anyway. That sounds like what happened in this case.

Whether or not it's harassment, the cop certainly isn't doing his job when he pulls over people for obeying the law instead of for breaking it.

So I guess as long as I'm not over the speed limit... I'm not driving careless or reckless???? I guess the next time a cop is behind me I'll just lay down some rubber, but make sure I'm not over the speed limit so he can't pull me over!

The fact is, police, fire, and EMS personnel risk their lives for us every day.
Most copper won't risk his or her life for you ... that's being naive. They get paid to protect rich and powerful people. Their salary comes from taxpayers, and they harass the same taxpayers unless you got status. I usually don't give cops trouble myself, probably just like you. You haven't run into a bad one yet, and I hope you never will.

It's nice to see some mature people on this forum "Intrepid175". I wish more people felt the same about Law Enforcement as you do. It would make my job easier.

Isn't it funny how easy you can tell ones maturity level off of one post?

I believe I said that the vast majority of police are polite and professional. I never said I haven't had a bad experience with one. Unfortunately, there are always exceptions but as I said before, you don't know what the officer has just been facing so try cutting them a little slack.

I'm sorry for whatever's happened to you in your life that's made you so cynical that you think I'm being naive.

Have you ever considered the risk they take every time they respond to a burglary call, or an assault call, or simply pull someone over for a traffic violation? They don't know what they're getting into. Sometimes a simple speeding ticket turns into a shootout because the persons they pulled over were packing guns and drugs. Maybe it's not the majority of times but how often would "you" have to be shot at before you started getting a little jumpy during what should have been a "routine" traffic stop?

Example: You just pulled over a speeder and the first thing you get when you walk up to the window is a loud mouth and smart attitude. Wouldn't you get a little on the defensive? Wouldn't you wonder what this person might be trying to hide?

It's not always so cut and dried!

Maybe it's other cops that give u a bad name. It's certainly not the criminals that give cops a bad name. I'm sorry officer
