With respects officer, it's that kind of talk ("Nice try there kiddie?) that only fuels Herrsonic's attitude. We, as citizens definitely need to show you the respect you're due, but that road is a two way street!

I believe I said that the vast majority of police are polite and professional. I never said I haven't had a bad experience with one. Unfortunately, there are always exceptions but as I said before, you don't know what the officer has just been facing so try cutting them a little slack.

I'm sorry for whatever's happened to you in your life that's made you so cynical that you think I'm being naive.

Have you ever considered the risk they take every time they respond to a burglary call, or an assault call, or simply pull someone over for a traffic violation? They don't know what they're getting into. Sometimes a simple speeding ticket turns into a shootout because the persons they pulled over were packing guns and drugs. Maybe it's not the majority of times but how often would "you" have to be shot at before you started getting a little jumpy during what should have been a "routine" traffic stop?

Example: You just pulled over a speeder and the first thing you get when you walk up to the window is a loud mouth and smart attitude. Wouldn't you get a little on the defensive? Wouldn't you wonder what this person might be trying to hide?

It's not always so cut and dried!

Drive Safe,
Steve R.
OK u win But power corrupts cops. They pull you over, and they know ur not a criminal (or maybe they don't have a good sense of judgment, and if that's the case they shouldn't be cops but I guess anyone can get hired as a cop nowadays). They just want to put u in your place. Or maybe their crud work spills over and they take it out on u. There are other cops who just are plain a$$hole and I've heard stories.

hmmmm... if i'm showing off and get busted, the cops doing his job. i don't like it, but it's the way things work. i don't understand the point of the original post. we're to be impressed with what a big, brave rebel this kid is? give me a break.

i don't like cops (sorry if that offends anyone) but i've learned NEVER to mouth off to one. why? i KNOW they can issue severe penalties REGARDLESS of whether there was ANY wrongdoing. i know this first hand.

i think the original poster is simply too inexperienced to have learned who was REALLY in control of that situation, and if he's been there before and not learned his lesson, then he's simply stupid.

That abuse of power ... man that was a wrongdoing by the cop. Even if the cop was wrong which has happened, u got 2 choices 1) make a donation to the PD, or 2) show up in court so they could waste your time.

Depends what kind of help I need. If my ride breaks, I call a tow truck or some friends. If I need to go to the hospital, I call the ambulance and they take me to the hospital, then they screw me with a freakin' outrageous bill afterwards (next time I'm asking for the price first ). Anyhow that's their job, and I guess good sense and giving a good image is not a required or mandatory job description.
