Harsh C&D CR Review
Does anyone know why the CR doesn't have its own section on this site?
I think it would be great to have a thread dedicated to owners regestry like the Nismo owners of the 350Z have.
I just think that the car is special enough for people to care a little bit more about it (opinions aside), only like 1500 are going to be made.
edit: why cant we have this? Nismo owners regestry

Red MX5,
I have never said a harsh word once about another car. This includes the AP1, AP2, or any other car. I take that back, I absolutely detest Citroens, Peugots, and Renaults. I'm not sure where you got that from?? I have autocrossed for close to 34 years and I apologize if I mis-spoke with regards to the rules. I just eat an entire bowl of grape nuts and prune juice to get the crap out from between my ears. It's an old guy thing. If you took my remarks as crtitism, then I apologize.
I did look over the SCCA National Solo rules and Redmx5 is absolutely correct, I got SP and SM confused and I apologize for that. I have a 914 that I am setting up for SP and they are very restrictive about what carbs or induction you can use. I had forgotten you could set up a street car in the SM class which has unrestricted induction. Locally, we only get AM or BM, possibly a solo vee but that's about it.
You have lit a new fire in me and this sounds like it might be fun. I would love to get a ride in your SC S2000 some time. Is there any lag associated with the SC that would diminsh exit speed? I have only played with a turbo 930 and 944 and they weren't an easy car to autocross well. I will be curious to hear your thoughts about this.
Again, I apologize if you considered my comments harsh, that was not my intent.
Best regards,
Mike
This doesn't mean you Ruprecht, are you still in time out??

I just don't get how they can sell less for more?
For that extra $3000, you get:
Hardtop (normally $3569!!!)
Extra bracing behind seats
Cover behind seats
Upgraded shocks, springs and swaybars
Larger, stickier tires
Quicker steering ratio
Effective aero kit
Sheesh, just with the hardtop you're already ahead with a CR! You actually get more per dollar with the CR than with the base model.
(Although I suppose the argument could be made that Honda took out the soft top. <shrug> )

A CR with AC and radio is $37,300. A normal S2000 is $34,300.

Well, guess what....
The S2000 isn't a NORMAL sports car. I'm shocked to read that Sti, Evo and 350 are in the same sentence with "faster shifters". I really hope you didn't mean that. Those 3 cars you listed have some pretty sloppy and SLOW shifters.
I like how you said "all MUCH faster".... 'MUCH' being the funny part. put the right driver in an S2000 and I garuntee you that it will keep up with any Sti/Evo or Track 350z on a track/autox/fun road.
As for paddles on the Fit, c'mon... Have you driven a paddled Fit? It's a joke.

Read the post again and see I was not talking about manual shifters: Step 1. Buy Road and Track. Read article on Mitsubishi's shifter system. Or just try VW/Audi's. There is a reason why Ferrari and P-car have gone this way. VASTLY FASTER. 2 Secs on the track, no other changes. Just wait until the low end lancer with the turbo and paddles comes out...lol.
I've owned an EVO IX and it was MUCH quicker than the 2.2 without mods. With nominal mods it would simply blow any s2k away, as it did superbly prepped M3's in competition, but you knew that right?
The CR is a fine car, it is not comparable to any track prep car on the market. It is better in some regards to the stock car, but it is not better than the stock car with a tire change, it is the stock car with a tire change.
You guys are strawmanning this to death. Out hp/wt ratio is poor, our brakes are weak, and there is limited room for bigger tires. The CR is just a progressive difference.
