Gotcha, I understand where you're coming from.

Indeed, there does seem to be quite the price difference in seats, so ignorning all the other changes, which balance out to the most part, you could definitely complain about Honda charging an extra $6k for synthetic suede seats. But I think its silly to say that you pay more for less with the CR. Seats are seats, I think the CR's are superior anyway, and you ultimately get just as good a deal with the CR as with a regular S2000. IMO.

Could be Honda came up with the non-leather seats for two reasons - less sliding around when cornering, and offset the cost of the R&D. It's not like new shock, spring and swaybar settings, and lip, wing and bracing designs were randomly generated. They had to spend time and money developing those items.

I love my CR it's a much better A-stock autocross car than my 04 was. I do miss the soft top. It gets alot of positive comments from none S2000 people.

I don't understand the hate on this board. Did the AP2 get the same treatment when it came out?

The CR is not for everyone. If the CR does not float your boat then it's not for you. enjoy your AP1 or AP2, and let us enjoy our CR's.

The hate on this board has gotten old, give it a rest and move on.

I'm sure it did.

As for the Aero... I've driven much faster than I should have been (under controlled conditions of course), and I can say that it was ROCK SOLID, all the way up to the limiter in 6th. (yes, I was actually bouncing off the limiter, but I was also on a slight downhill grade)

My G35 coupe definately starts getting scary over 110-120....

Same with my VR-4... So I can say the aero is DEFINATELY functional.

I can say that my STI (no longer have) felt roughly the same in terms of high speed stability.

I just feel like I still have control of the S at high speed... drastic difference from the G and VR-4

This is getting ridiculous. The bottom line is the CR is a better "track car" from Honda (out of the box) than the standard S2000........period. That's Honda's purpose for bringing out the CR......no other reason. Honda claims it's 2 seconds faster around their test track than the standard S.

So for all of us that are lucky enough to own one.......CHEERS

Now, let's move on

Why is this ridiculous? If this thread was 5 pages of CR "love" you'd be beside yourself.

S2ki is made for discussions like this, and the reason I'm a member. I learn a lot of stuff, and enjoy talking about things here with fellow S2000 owners - Thats what makes it fun and why I pay my 50/year to be here.

Not everyone digs my car or my tuning style. Whatever.

Don't get butthurt because not everyone loves your car either. You bought it, you like it, be content.

Very accurate review. He listed quite a few of the reasons I hate the CR, although I could come up with many more than he listed.

That's cool if they are superior, but gimme credit for something removed.

If the 16k seats are being replaced with 5k seats, gimme a 9k credit on the car for the difference in cost.

Heck, meet me part way with a 75% credit on the 9k difference...say 6k.

With a 6k credit, the CR would sell for 3,000 less than the std S...after including the factors in your math sheet.

At least the pricing would make sense.

Pay more, get less...that dog just don't hunt.
16K for seats? You have gotta be kidding me. For 16K I could get an 06 Miata.. or a pair of S2K seats???? W.T.F.

I think most people are more disappointed in what Honda is offering than in the CR itself. People expected more, and see the CR as a manifestation of Honda's failure. That doesn't mean the CR is bad, its just that people had high hopes.

And yes, people bashed the AP2 like this when it came out.
