Actually...does anyone know if you can get the Honda alarm system and then somehow add a prox. sensor to it?

Yes, my factory alarm cannot decide between manual and passive arming. It has gone back to manual for now, thankfully. It can also choose to blow the horn if the doors are locked while the trunk is open (or not blow). The problem started when I used the second remote.

Of course after tonights' flirtation with a lightning bolt I may want to add a stormscope to my alarm

Yes you can added a prox. sensor to the factory alarm.

 

koreans2000, do you know what brand? Or does Honda offer one? This is the only real qualm I have with the Honda alarm.
