I like to run it up to 9k every now and then when passing someone, but I don't ever race either. My friend has an NSX, and sometimes we just play around on a rarely traveled back road, but we don't pass each other, just see how each other keeps up.

Definately, no shame in not racing. You're saving wear and tear on your car. I'm 35 and I have no intention of doing stupid things to kill my car, or even worse, myself or an innocent bystander.

if I wanted to race, I'd just rent out track time and have a blast in a safe environment... so many of my idiot friends (well acquaintances) think that they are immortal in their teggy's, SI's, and so fourth, they're young and stupid.. one of them has already ruined his clutch by racing and launching at like every red light!

95% of the time I don't go hunting for my next prey.
But every once in awhile, when I'm in a good mood or pi$$ed off or when I'm running late.
I also have a buddy w/ M Roadster that I just have to race whenever we're together, since he's got a M roadster.
And can't forget our S gatherings/meets, you just have to just to keep up w/ these crazy b@st@rds, but you gott a love 'em.

Good day all :I can say have never raced at all as well .
Please note that what many call racing is not really that.
It is just going fast with another car .
To race requires several things:and i'll keep it simple
1.proper training.
2.proper equiptment
3.controled enviorment .

No stoplight races here (and no interest really). Most of my encounters have been with with people tailing closely approaching turns/curves, and I've been known to open up a few carlengths on them.

I have had a few kids pull up and rev on me (Cavalier, Galant, etc. with 4 passengers, wtf?), but I have no intention of abusing my car to give them a demonstration.

Can't stand tailgaters - fun to see them dissapear from your rearview mirror especially around turns.

Never raced another car. The cops over here can confiscate your car for increasing periods of time for doing so. For a third offence you may not get it back.

I'm way past any desire to street race but I sure don't agree with this policy of harrassing young guys who like to congregate and hang out talking cars etc. They are given an uneccessarily hard time IMO.

Next time you are tempted to race on the street or freeway, remember this post from the Street Encounters forum. Decapitation = no fun.
