I agree. The easiest way to think of it is this: high viscosity = thick, low viscosity = thin.

So whats involved in adding a oil temp guage and where did you guys put them? I always liked the idea of being able to monitor the vitals :-)

I have always found that an oil pressure guage is more useful than an oil temp guage. The oil pressure guage tells you when the oil is up to temp, because the oil pressure normalizes. It'll also tell you if the oil is too hot, because oil pressure will drop below normal at low revs.

If you already have a pressure guage then a temp guage only provides more information, but too many guages can be distracting. A single multi-function gauge might be a better option.
