Default Help with Exhaust and Cold air.

Hey all i'm kinda new to doing things to cars, but i was looking into getting a new exhaust for my s2k (03) and a cold air. I want to get Max HP out of both of them, i however would like to get an exhaust that has a silencer on then as to not make the car "ricey" but i want to make it quieter. I wouldn't mind a sound from the exhaust similar to the 350z or quieter. SBD (silent but deadly) hehehe. Anyone got any suggestions for me. I have money i just need to find the right parts. I could really use some help! thanks!

The stock exhaust is about as quiet as you will find anywhere I would think. There is not alot to be gained from exhaust and CAI on the S. It is mainely for looks and/or sound. I have an Injen CAI and I love it. I also have a J's N1 exhaust and love it also, although you definately don't want that if you want quieter than stock! I believe the Mugen exhaust is reasonably quiet and looks AWSOME.

cool! i've heard that some new exhausts are comming with silencers and such. i'd like to look into that. If i got another like 15HP out of adding a cold air intake and exhaust would I actually notice a difference? thanks for all of your help!

No exhaust/intake system will give you 15hp. Period.

Your money is better spent on driving schools or track time.

Most horsepower you're gonna get from a bolt-on exhaust will be about 5 wheel horsies (Spugen-dyno proven, Amuse, J's Racing). Someone correct me if Im wrong. Only way to get REAL, noticable power would be FI, ie. supercharger, turbo.

Happy spending,
Chris
