HELP! My car got keyed.

My old car was involved in a hit and run. There were plenty of witnesses, with car descriptions and the license plate #. The police told me that they only pursue cases where someone is hurt or killed, and don't bother with property damage. Good luck getting them to do something in your case.
Try to find a lawyer with access to Lexis-Nexis or WestLaw. I think you can look up license plate info on those databases (not positive, but a lawyer I know mentioned that when I had my problem). I didn't follow up because I sold the car, but if I hadn't I'd have tried to find the retard.

That sucks to hear that. I guess I need to find out who it was and take matters into my own hands after I try the police route. I think we are about to go to the mall in just a little while.

I got all but two of my body panels keyed. I singled out four guys to the police. They said I needed to know EXACTLY who it was and have proof before they could do anything. Insurance charge me $100 for repainting almost the entire car. So that was sweet.

Man sorry about your car, people are messed up. The police will most likely do very little to help you, they actually consider stuff like this very petty. If you want to kick it vigilante style, I would hire a good private investigator, he/she might be able to track that tag down for you.

Luckily I think the witness can identify who it was that did it. My friend works for a law firm. I left him a voicemail earlier. Would it be possible to have him pay for the car as well as the attorney fees and such?

Jealous F*CKERS!! I am sure that was the only reason they keyed your car. I have a SPA too and I would hate to come out and find it vandalized. I think I can help on Monday.
On Judge Mathis if someone sues for damage and wins they get the judgement + court costs. I don't know if that includes attourney fees as well. Of course this is only a TV show too so I don't know how accurate it is.
