You gotta connect the jump cables on the car for a few mins first.
Then have somebody rev the other to get more juice then you start yours.
Otherwise you should let the cable on the car for 5 mins before you attempt to start.
Just from my experience ....

That stock battery has had it. Mine just gave up the ghost this past spring. No color on the little indicator window either - dead.

All of my cars that have the original battery seem to last about 2-3 years max. There must be some kind of conspiracy with the aftermarket battery manufacturers - hahaha.

...and leave some scooby snacks in the garage, so the little animals don't treat your battery cables like beef jerky - hahaha again.

Hockey that's odd, I had an '85 that had the original till 1999, my parents '97 van still running the original battery. The '93 I'm driving is still on it's original it should last longer than 2-3 years!

Wing - hey, no fair. Seriously though....my last 3 new cars have all needed new batteries at about the same time. Maybe its the climate here in paradise (I mean San Diego), or my driving habits?????

Either way, I miss the cash I spent on that thing. Batteries are not nearly as fun to buy as aftermarket stuff.

Starts great now!

Hey Norwegianguy, when you couldn't start your car, did the dash light come on at all. I have the same problem now for my car. I am not able to start it. Please check my post and see if you had any suggestion. Thanks a million.

All -- thanks for your replies and suggestions. After I re-charged my battery, everything seems fine, but since this happened, I've been driving my car more often (not let it sit for a week at a time). Not sure why my battery discharged completely, but it hasn't happened again. A new battery is on my list of stuff to get relatively soon, though.

ed03feng -- sorry for not checking the thread. Anyhow, I did not see any lights whatsoever when my car didn't start. Regular jumper cables just didn't do it.
