Thumbs up help please! hard top question..

I own a 2003 GPW S2k and I would like to buy a hard top for my S2k from a 2001 Yellow S2k (limited edition). My question is will the 2001 hard top that comes with the installation kit fit my 2003 S2k? or I have to purchase a installation kit for 2002-2005??

The reason why I ask, cause I found 2 of the following items in hardtopguy.com

2000-2001 Hardtop installation kit
2002-2005 hardtop installation kit

please help!
Thanks

You will only need to buy a different kit if you want the rear window defrost to work on the hardtop.

I bought a used top from a MY01 owner and I own an MY02. I ended up with everything working and spare parts. That is because the MY02+ (That includes 02,03,04,05,06) have the defroster wiring from the factory. So assuming that you get all the parts he had installed in his car for the HT. YOu will install it on yours, and test the Defroster. If it works, then you are golden. If it does not, you will need to change the rear catcher on the driver side. I tought I would have to, but everything worked once installed on my car. Honda updated the wiring and rear catcher some time in 02. So if the top was purchased after the change, you will be set.

Good luck

Everythings exactly the same, but, as stated if you want to use the heated rear window, youll need to buy the wiring kit for the switch

Can you buy the wiring switch seperately?
I have a 2001 with a hardtop from an 03. The catchers worked fine and I bought the strikers, but of course I have no connected defroster. Can I buy these parts seperately? I have the 03 catchers, so it seems I have the harness in the rear, but no button anywhere?
