I empathize with you and this really stinks but i do agree with this guy. As long as you did not get hurt financially than call it a learning lesson.

The car is gone so you will not buy that exact car. Not worth the time/hassle it will be with the dealership who happens to be half way across the country.

You have to play hard ball.. here is my suggestion..

Go up to the dealership on the busiest sales day (saturday?) at around 1pm. Have all of your paperwork.. stand in front of the front door and call the police. Have them show up and tell them the story. Not only will you be able to file a police report you will get A LOT of people's attention.. not only the GM and workers, but the customers who see what's going on. This will get the ball rolling I'm sure.

 

Really you shouldn't be asking anyone here for advice. You need to contact an attorney and also you can consider contacting the FBI. Since this happened over state lines and via the mail, it may fall under federal fraud regulations. Contacting Toyota may also be effective as would local news agencies in both locations.

 

I've noticed that things like this tend to work the best in most situations. Even Clark Howard recommends doing such things!

 

spoke to the GM he said it has been sold to a wholesaler. Said the wholesaler now holds the title. He did and I quote "say that the car has been sold to two parties" he did not disagree with me when I said I had purchased the car. He did not say who bought the car first.

He knows they f----d up big time. He also said he is not sure how to resolve the situation.

I guess there are two options:

1. Maybe not realistic but they could buy it back from the wholesaler.

2. The other option is seeking compensation from the dealer in addition to 100% refund.

As for not asking for advice from members...I disagree...the exchange of knowledge and opinion among a community is invaluable...I may not use all or any of the advice I get but I am more than willing to listen...so speak up!

 

Umm... they either have to give you the car or give you a 100% refund... What is there not to know about how to resolve this issue? The people over there aren't very bright, are they?

The car is still there!!!!!! It is for sale for $24,000

I called in pretending to be a prospect buyer and one sales guy told me it was there and then he put me on hold then came back and told me that it was not available and the whole tone was very shady.

That sales guy must've not known what was going on. but this dealership is BSing you big time.
