help with Voodoo knob!

Default help with Voodoo knob!

ok so i have a Voodoo knob i bought from ricks site. and i installed it and love it. my problem is on really spirted drives when i shift really hard sometimes the knob starts to spin off meaning it comes loose and i have to stop and rear tighten it.
does anyone have any ideas to help keep it tight? i was thinking lock tight but i don't want it to ruin my knob. any ideas are welcome thanks! jonathan

Look under the knob and you'll find the counter nut...tighten that nut and you'll be all set.

are you talking about the stock counter nut? i thought you are not suppost to use that because then the knob doesn't sit as low as it should?

that was my original thought was the loctight . i'm not using the stock nut never have. i was just worried that the loc tight would make it impossible to get off . thanks for all the help

I got one from Rick couple of weeks ago and love it! Although, I don't have the problem about it getting loose.

You might wanna try to install it when it's cold, twist it the most you can and repeat 3-4 times, do this again while driving or after it gets hot. Most important, make sure you give the tread on the shaft a really good clean, wipe off, so you have a good contact surface. I also did modify the shift boot a bit to sit lower( expose the shaft about 2 inches below the knob base), 'cause I hate the feel of grabbing half metal knob-half soggy shift boot.

I don't want to put any glue on it either, if I have a choice. Try this method, I hope this help.
