Default Hey! Come back here!

Does anyone else have a driver-side rear view mirror that wanders? Mine requires significant adjustment inwards just about every day, usually after I get in it in the morning.

Does it keep looking at you no matter where you are in the garage? Maybe it's haunted, or maybe it's a herbie!!

i haven't had problems with my s2000, but my dad's monte carlo has the same problem

i figure it's the power motor ratcheting locking thingamajig, you get that? well, in my dad's car i'd just push it back into alignment w/o electronically adjusting; it would click back in. it felt like it was splined and that it must be too loosely mounted - enough that the mirror would move out of place after awhile for some unknown reason...

it shouldn't be something to worry about, it's just pretty damn annoying

actually, are you talking about the mirror itself that's misaligning? or the whole side-view mirror pod? cuz if its the latter, you're either hitting it as you walk to your car, or you hit it on the garage as you pull in... ouch

I believe the mirror is actually held in by clips, maybe not all the clips are depressed/clipped? Hold the back of the mirror casing and give it a good push in the middle.

Make sure you've turned your mirror adjustment switch to the off position. Having seen the mechanism, it is hard to fathom how it could fail in this way. The only option would be to replace it.

Do you park in a public area? If so, maybe somebody is messing with your mirror at night? Otherwise a simple test to see if the mirror is loose, slam the door close and see if it moves.
