The lighting isn't the problem, the cutoff is. When I go up in the mountains I usually just leave my brights on. If I just use my normal lights I can only see like 20 feet of road in front of me.

Then you need to readjust your headlights.

i have no complaints about the hid's and it doesn't seem to be better or worse compared to my last car but i do wish the car came with factory integrated fog lights.

I think the S2000 HIDs are not bad, but aren't really THAT superior. Audi has really good projectors imo. Those really are bright and go far

One problem with the S2000 is that the car sits relatively low, so that makes the HID look a bit weaker when you are driving, but it's not that bad.

So, how far should the lowbeams project? I haven't measured, but my cutoff is about 1 to 1.5 car-lengths from the front of the car. Does this seem right? To me it doesn't seem like they project far enough. I may ask the dealer to check their alignment next time I have reason to be there.

I also felt that the low-beam range was rather short. Adjustment is easy though.

We have one of the best headlights on the market.

Do a search, the technique for adjusting the is a sticky somewhere I think.

It's easy, just park 20 odd feet from a wall, adjust the headlights until the cut off line is X distance from the ground. I adjusted mine just a smidge higher and then went out and drove towards my wife in her car to make sure I wasn't blinding anyone.
