High-pitch rattle after shifting?
Hey all... been hearing this ever since I bought my car... I shift at like 3000-3400rpm... and every shift, I hear a high-pitch metallic vibration noise. Doesn't sound major at all, just something I've been hearing.
Usually lasts for 2 seconds directly after shifting into the next gear... could be 2500-2750rpm?
Thanks,
[DRIV300]

It could be because you are low on oil. I suggest you shift at 5000RPM or higher. If you look around on the forums you will find some owners recommend shifting at 5000RPM or higher to prevent any grinding and so on. Hope this helps.
Nope, not low on oil... at the very top actually. 5000rpm doesn't work too well with my budget, kinda consumes more gas
I like to save gas and then blow what I saved up in VTEC... But how would it prevent grinding?

Being that you have an '01, I'm going to guess one of two things:
1. You have the typical clutch spring buzz. You can confirm this by trying to duplicate the noise while decelerating in gear. 3rd or 2nd will do. Just make sure you are going in excess of 4000 rpm and just let your foot off the gas and let the rpm go down to below 2000 rpm.
2. You have a heat shield that has warped or shifted and now it touches something just at that rpm range. This, you "might" be able to duplicate with the engine running, tranny in neutral, an assistance to rev the engine up while you listen in the engine bay and under the sides of the car.
