I read about a lot of s2k owners who lose control in relatively slow driving events on wet roads, and many report that it's like driving on ice. It makes me wonder what else contributes to these events - alignment settings, suspension parts, tire pressures, oily/dirty road surface ? etc....

The first night I bought my car (used) I drove it home on the highway in torrential rain conditions for over 2 hours with some tires that weren't that great, and the car felt very stable. I had no idea at the time that these cars can be a bit tricky in rain conditions, but everything felt great to me at the time.

well you know when it starts to rain that is the most dangerous part right? thats when the rain is washing away all that oil from the road. so even with tread you would have most likely lost control. thats why its a good idea to wait after 10+ min when its starts raining so you dont get oil+water just water

I have a post going elsewhere on this site about jittery LSD rear diff action in cornering under throttle when I use thinner viscosity gear oil 75/90 and 75/110 but that issue does not seem apparent when I run high viscosity gear oil in the rear diff. (75/140). The diff shears down fluid with mileage so the fluid gets thinner over time and perhaps that exacerbates the situation in throttled cornering ?
