Guess I'll have to have another owner sit in it with me. I bought mine used; the sound hasn't changed, but I don't know if it was "right" in the first place.

btw, its good to vtec the car often(well maybe like once every day or two). it helps prevent carbon buildup, and will actually keep your car healthy. its kind of like exercise for a human. anyways, you also won't have that much black soot shooting out of your pipes.

I have 39.5K miles on MY01, I redline every once in a while, drive consistintly hard, bur never abuse the car. I'm the second owner, and I am sure the first owner did the same. Isn't that what the cars all about.

Abuse is different. For one, the S2K is meant to drive hard. Secondly, that doesn't mean that I burn rubber like a 18 year old. But take me in the canyons, I'm like a five year old in a go-kart

VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVRRRRRROOOOOOOMMMM.

i vtec every single time I go out in the car unless it is raining. I never drop the clutch or do burnouts. At autox's I do agressive launches but thats it. I do drift and do 360's a whole lot because its tons of fun (especially in the winter bc my tires have zero traction, but this isn't abuse to the car at all). If I get onto a highway with a straightaway, ill reline in through 4th or 5th ect. oil changed every 3k, diff and tranny every 7. I bought this car to DRIVE and it gets driven hard all the time. I've never understood the whole "vtec once a week thing", i find it absolutely impossible not to.

I have had mine for 6 months and pretty much use her as a daily driver. Sometimes I drive spirited, but you could could the times on your fingers that I've VTEC'ed it. I never beat her.

I drift mine on a regular basis. I've never done a holeshot from a stop, or a heavy cluth dump, but I do fan the clutch while turning (on agressive roads) to bring the back end out, just cause I can 4 new tires at 12 k miles...get 'em at cost and mount 'em myself...

Sounds fun! Gotta learn how to do it. Well, I don't think I beat on her to bad but I am putting in a new clutch this week with only 15k miles which 2k are from me - but still have lots of thread left on the tires. The autoshop that I'm getting it done suggested on the ACT so thats what I'm going with. I'll let ya know if it can handle my crappy driving style!!

I drive it like its meant to be driven...VTEC every day but not bouncing off the limiter. No burnouts...but donuts and drifting definitely. I don't abuse the car...but there are things you can do that aren't necessarily abusing the car.

Its a Honda...it can take it.
