I really don't understand why everyone is being so harsh.

I'd probably try goof-off / goo-be-gone along with a clay bar. I'd be reluctant to try anything harsher than that to begin with.

Why are you people flaming, its his car. Does his hood somehow make the one you own worse? Why do you even care what he does to his car?

I did this once before to my old rx7 TT. My gf was the one who actually provided me with a good solution. Take nailpolish remover and use that to remove the paint. The acetone is not quite as strong as rubbing alcohol. You'll have to buy lots of bottles of it, but at $0.89 it's cheaper than getting it repainted!. Then just bring your silverstone touch-up paint to your local paint store and have them mix you up a can of the stuff and just use a fine brush to paint that back on. The new buyer will never know. Just don't use a roller, you'll get a stucco effect.

with TepEvan's idea ..... I would also suggest that once you have painted with the touch up paint use a hairdryer on the hottest setting to dry the paint .... this will make the paint much harder and gives you a much more professional finish to it .....

use a soft grit scotch-Bright pad, and run water on the hood as you buff it.

this should remove the paint, and hopefully buff out any errors you made previously.
