I am big on the back road twisties.....They rule and thats what this car was made for. But i must admit street light to street light is also very fun. I have a 75 shot for the street light encounters. It can provide the extra boost for the street light races. But The s2000 is a twisty KING. Even on the highway a high class 540i or jag vaden plaus can stick with the s2000 very well. ......Hit the mountains our carve the canyons.........It really is Bliss!

Thanks for all the responses but I hate V8s. I was kind of insulted that another S2000 owner would even suggest me to go by a 8cyl. I just wanted a 4cyl that could beat any other 4cyl or even most 6's out there, easily, excluding supras.

I'm young and want to go as fast as possible. Twisty roads just wont cut it for me.

Sounds to me like you bought the wrong car. Did you do research before you dropped the money on an S2000? Seems like what's been mentioned on this thread wouldn't be news since even the magazine reviews that have been out on this car say it's not well suited to drag racing.

My advice would be to learn to appreciate the handling of this car, as that is the essence of what this car is about.

I know I might get flamed for this, but have you considered getting a Miata and modding it out? It's a lighter car and can easily be built to equal or exceed the power of a stock S2000. Just a thought...

When I was young, the people that wanted to go fast on a 1/4 mile track or the street would get a GTO, Roadrunner, Hemi Cuca, TransAm, Camaro, etc. What happened with how the youth of today think. Whenever I hear a loud farting sound, I look in the direction of a riced out econocar. I don't get it. V-8s have always been the way to go when it comes to powerful fast cars. What did I miss?

I have a buddy in FL (Brian) who was showing some guys in his office photos of my SC install, (he helped me install it). One of the guys immediately recognized the engine bay as an S2000, and said a friend of his has an S2000 drag car, running mid-10's.

Brian's response was "WHAAAAAAT????" Anyway, the guy claims the car has an over-boosted turbo that dynos at 500HP, and get this - a Ford transmission and rear end.

Brian is trying to get to see the car and take pictures if he can. I just though it was an interesting story. Oh, he's in Tampa.
