Mines been tracked for 10 years. Its even seen 11-12K RPM. The head needed to be replaced a year after doing that because of valve seat issues. Original 16 year old longblock still. Perfect compression.

They're hard to kill.
Have a read of my thread, it just let go so far as I'm aware.

I'd had problems with the head gasket last year, and it was using a fair bit of oil (although I'd checked it just prior to the failure, so it wasn't related to that.

One of the guys here in the UK works at Bentley and is perhaps going to run some tests, so watch this space.

My '03 currently has 353,000 miles. Original engine and tranny. The only engine work done was a valve adjustment.
Wow, amazing.. At what intervals would you recommend valve adjustments on our AP1's? Mines 2002 with 36,000+ miles.

Whenever the valves are loud. At 36k, you're probably fine. Its different for different driving. My 150k mile TSX has never had one. Because the valves are quiet.

Quiet valves don't necessarily imply properly adjusted valves. Our valves typically get tighter, not looser as you run more miles. IMO you should adjust your valves more often if you drive hard.

I got around to adjusting my valves at 200k miles and only had one valve barely out of adjustment. But I drive lots of easy, highway miles that don't do much to valve clearance. YMMV.

Too quiet= time for adjustment on the F2x. Fact.
