Default High mileage s2k's

How long were these engines built to last? Also will the engine and chassis last another 100,000 miles after they've already gone 100,000 miles?

There are many s2k with over 200k miles. Its all about how it is maintained. While a low mileage car that often see redline and lack if maintenance might blow up, a 200k thats maintained and driven reasonably will continue to 300k.

Its a question that cant be answered to any specific s2k. Some will see 300k and some will never see 80k because it gets wrecked etc...

Yep...totally agree.

Assuming no wrecks, with the PROPER oils, filters, fuels, driving habits and a GOOD mechanic these engines should easily reach 250-300k before a rebuilt is needed.

I mention a GOOD mechanic because(IMO) very few people are really good at working on these cars.We all need a guy like Billman250 in our neighborhood.

Typical Honda quality. Should last forever if cared for correctly. Could still last a long time if not cared for correctly.

The S2000 is a very well built car. The car will easily last 300,000 miles if you maintain it and don't abuse it.

I currently have 301,000 miles and I have only done normal maintenance and new front bearings. I drive lots of highway miles. My car still runs like new.

There are a few others with over 300K on the original engine.

Japanese cars are known for their reliability and long-lasting engines, as long as you maintain it well I am sure it will run longer than you want it to!
