then graduation from college:

then 2005:

then 2007:

i think that this kind of progression is more along the lines of people who don't have rich parents.

how bout who is the youngest person here who pays for their "S" payments and insurance with no help and what type of work do they do to pay for it. And maybe how much do they make too or what not.

Excludes people who had down payments from mommy/daddy/grandparents/aunts/uncles/etc
I guess 17/18 was right near birthday i fall into that subject??? Bought a RSX from my friend for 5000$ 2002 base auto.... he had all these parts on it and i new i could make money off it. My parents helped me with 1700$ since they did the same with my sister (And no 1700 was thankfull but its nothing to brag about) so i drove that car around for a year and sold it for 9500$ without puttin a dime into it and puttin 35k miles on it in a year. I worked delivering pizza's 4days a week. Bringing home around 315$ a week cash after gas i saved alot but i have a gf so tons went to her to. i watched my 1k left in the bank grow to almost 8k in lil les than that year. Graduation came and 3k in graduation money from family n stuff. Sold my car n stuff so i had sround 20g in bank with no car. Was lookin at 350z RSX-S or s2000 or WRX.... Figured a 01 s2000 i got for pretty good deal 45k on clock, stock good condition for 15700. And now thats were im at now and i have a delivery car so i still deliver pizzas L

if you are in hs and can afford a S on your own, then you deserve it. if your parents buy it for you and you drive like a normal responsible person, then your good. its the ones that have their parents buy it for them and crash it 2 weeks later while driving like an idiot that dont deserve such a car. i bought my first car at 16....4 months before my 17th birthday. it was a acura integra. i dropped $10,000 on it which was all my money i had saved up from work and bdays and such. im sure some people thought my parents bought it for me, but that wasnt the case. if you have rich parents and they want to buy you a nice car and you can handle it, then consider yourself lucky.

Man, I tell you, I had a POS Cutlass Ciera in my senior year of high school that was constantly leaking oil and running like crap, all the way through end of college. Couldn't even afford a nice car until a few years after college let alone driving a 30+ grand car like the S in high school!! That's insane! And yes, I paid for everything myself in including my college education and all the cars except for the POS Cutlass Ciera. And no, no one needs an S as an incentive to get good grades. You should be getting good grades even without that incentive, anything else is just icing on the cake. All you kids with rich parents paying for it all, consider yourself lucky! Paren'ts paying for cars, etc though...is in a way similar to parents paying for college tuition, room and board etc. Makes it too easy for the kid. I paid for my own college tuition, my own cars, my own everything. No kids of mine will get free cars or tuition, that's for sure!

If you are in high school, you should not own this car.

One of a few scenarios is happening:

1. Your parents spoil you and pay for everything. You will turn out to be a horrible member of society and will definietly wreck your parents' S2000 because you dont respect it. And nobody respects you.

And dont give me that crap about "This is my reward for getting good grades!" How about you get good grades so that you can get into a good college. And get good grades there so you can get a good job and have a good life. That should be reward enough.

2. Your parents only spoil you a little by paying for some of the S2000 and making you work really hard to pay for all those mods . You will still probably wreck your S2000 showing off for your friends. Very little repsect for you.

3. You are working your ass off to pay for your S2000 yourself. This is not as big of an accomplishment as you would like to think because you're still living at home with mommy and daddy, who are paying for your housing, food, clothes, etc. When you are paying for these things yourself and your S, be proud. Until then, you probably respect your S quite a bit so you likely wont wreck it, but stop bragging that you pay for "everything" yourself. You dont. Still very little respect for you as well, because if you were truly smart you would be putting all that money you're wasting on an expensive car toward college. Student loans suck.

4. You are working your ass off to pay for your S yourself. And you are living in it because you ran away from home. That's what I call dedication. Much respect for you

5. You stole your S and mommy and daddy dont know about it. You are the scum of the earth.

Here come the from the high school kids telling me how wrong I am...

Am i the only one that would be scared to have an S2000 during high school. I don't know about all you guys, but I remember my inexperiences and all the immature things I have done and I don't think my S deserves that naive treatment. Thank god I had that Daytona to beat up on.
Nope, you are not the only one...

For a short period of time in high school I had a '73 Mercury Capri, 2.6 V6 (for the kids in this thread let me just say, that German built Ford was one fast car in its day). After I crashed it and repaired it twice, I decided to sell it and get something a little slower and less sporting so I could live long enough to get to college.

And I have to say, it still looks good to me today, what a fantastic car, but it was just too much for me at the time.

BTW- this is what I drove in highschool...
'64 Ford Falcon

'67 Fordd Fairlane

'71 Dodge Dart Demon

Ok kids, I hope I've given ya a good laugh...
