lol so many lazy people

I always fill up at 1/4 tank. No point in delaying the inevitable. What if you get stuck in traffic, get lost or suddenly need to rush somewhere far for an emergency? It's like being hungry and saying, instead of eating now and satisfying my hunger, I’ll just wait 4 more hours until I’m REALLY hungry. There’s no real point to waiting…you’re not saving money.

Bring a gas can or buy 1 gallon at the track.

You shouldn't be running at the track under 1/4 tank unless you're running a race tank. You are unknowingly running lean on fuel and will cause damage.

Sure you save money (albeit a negligible amount). Fewer fill-ups, less gas spent pulling into the station, and better average MPG by having lower average weight over the span of driving per tank of gas due to less weight

I don't think mine has ever seen this light, and it will also never have a full tank...hah. Since it's just a weekend car I usually fill it up the day I take it out ($15-20 depending how much therapy I need that day). Then after my drive it is usually at 3-4 bars left. Then I repeat every weekend.

Determine typical mileage for a tank for your driving style and keep an eye on the odometer.

Alright maybe I exaggerated a little...Iv only ever dropped to about 3 bars before realizing my gas situation, but I still feel the scenario is a definite possibility!

This is a theory I live by, but also Iv had two incidents where when filling the tank full the pump never kicked off and fuel poured out onto my car...of course I immediately cleaned the car, but I don't want to risk that happening a third time.

amen...I learned this lesson the hard way (minus the damaging my engine part, but I did choke the car on track and ran out of gas trying to get to the nearest Shell station)!
