I don't think Car&Driver would have picked the S2000 to be #1 in the latest issue if the S2000 had anything other then perfection in terms of shifting. Mine is absolutely the best, and I get goose bumps every time I shift gears....

What a waste of webspace this thread is.

A search will answer any and all questions pertaining to this subject and the answers "pre-7/17/03" aren't going to be any different than the ones "post-7/17/03."

The S2000 shifts like butta if you know how to shift it.

Go to your local auto parts store, buy a can of Marvel Mystery Oil, open it up and insert screwdriver bit in first. At this point, grab the screwdriver with your shift hand and mimic your atypical shift pattern.
That pretty much sums it up.

Edit: I thought my edit was funnier.

I test drove a Z06, it seemed like a LOOOONG through, and not nearly as smooth or as positive as my S. If Chevy can't do better than the S in a $50,000 car, I think you should be fine.

Different cars shift differently and once you get used to that one car, it's gets easier IMO. Find the sweet spot, and there's no other car like it.

Like everone suggests Drive it and you'll know, it's smooth.
