That seems like a lot of miles for a car that came off the truck. Mine had like 18 miles on it which now I think is a lot. My S4 had 12 miles.

From the factory it can can have up to 40-60 miles on it for "factory testing" processes. Somebody definitly did some driving around in the car at the dealer. Hopefully they were gentile to it.

Ok, it may not be quite as bad as you think. You need to find out what the port of entry is for your car. Then find out how it gets from there to the dealer. Being from the Northeast like me, your car comes by ship (like all of them) but probably landed in a nearby port. Rather than truck it from there to the dealer, which would result in a showroom car with 10 or fewer miles, they will drive them to the dealer or distributor when they are relatively close. If there is a distributor in your area, it then gets driven to the dealer (more miles). In Boston, I saw 5 or 6 new cars, all with between 24 and 45 miles. The one I bought had 24 before I test drove it. At the time, it was still wrapped in plastic, so I don't think it wasn't being used by the dealer guys. Hope this minimizes your pain.

6 miles on my 01.

When you said you wanted your deposit back, maybe your dealer made some quick calls around the area to find an S in the color/interior combo that you wanted and had it driven to the dealership.

Once when I was buying a car and didn't want to wait for a new shipment, the dealer I was working with found the model/color I wanted at a dealer that was about 150 miles away and said they would drive it down. I thought about it, but decided I didn't want a new car with 150 miles on it (especially after I called around and found a dealer about 30 miles away that had what I wanted).

If this is the case, you should have went and looked in some of the other cars they have on the lot to see if they have 100 plus miles on them.

BTW My '02 had 9 miles on it I believe.

I guess what Im gonna do is go back to the dealership and look at all the other cars, and see. The next question, lets say some douche bag took it out and used vtec off the bat, how bad is that, the car feels fine to me, the only thing I am really worried about is possible long term damage that can be caused by unproper use in the break in period, and thoughts?
